Design Engineer

Location: Cork, Ireland

SensL has an opportunity in its engineering team for a Design Engineer who will design and work on the next generation of low light sensors. The ideal candidate will have a physics or electronic engineering background with an emphasis on device physics. Additionally strong test and characterisation skills are required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fully understanding the operation of SensL's detector technology. This candidate will interact between silicon fabrication and the engineering development team to develop our product roadmap. The Device Engineer will also work with the sales team to better understand the device operation in our customers applications and work with the engineering team to improve product performance.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Technical background in device physics and characterisation

  • Significant laboratory experimental experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work across a wide range of technical areas

  • Strong interpersonal and team skills

  • Ability to execute multiple tasks efficiently and effectively

  • Desire and ability to learn new areas and tasks rapidly and to work in a changing dynamic environment

  • Masters/Doctorate or similar level in science, engineering, physics or similar degree. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in research and development with a history of successful project management.
